Developing the EU-MINDS Guide: A Practical Resource for Employment Professionals

Developing the EU-MINDS Guide: A Practical Resource for Employment Professionals

As another result of the partners' joint work, the first version of the EU-MINDS Guide has been completed.

The Guide is intended for professionals who support unemployed people or individuals at risk of social exclusion and who encounter the mental health impacts of unemployment in their daily work.

In addition to theoretical background, the Guide includes practical exercises, self-reflection activities, and easy-to-use methods that professionals can apply in their everyday practice to support mental wellbeing.

The Guide consists of four modules focusing on the following topics:

  • the basics of mental health, and recognizing and responding to crisis situations in employment counselling;
  • coping strategies that support wellbeing and everyday balance;
  • the role of motivation, resilience, and peer support;
  • inclusive and culturally sensitive approaches in employment counselling.

The topics were selected based on the project's research findings and the experience of professionals from the partner countries, ensuring that the Guide provides practical support for the challenges they most commonly face. While the modules build on one another, each can also be used independently, allowing professionals to focus on the topics that are most relevant to their own work.

The first version of the Guide has been completed, but the final publication will only become publicly available on the project website after the pilot phase. Feedback from professionals will help us further refine the Guide and ensure that it meets the needs of everyday practice.
